From 9th to 12th January this year, our Form Five students went on a remarkable journey to Okinawa for a Cultural Heritage and Nature Experiences Tour. This marked their first overseas trip as part of the Personal Growth Programme, offering them a truly eye-opening experience to remember. Their adventures began with a visit to the Okinawa Prefectural Peace Memorial Museum on the first day of the tour. Through the detailed introductions provided by the tour guides, our students delved into the profound history and the tragic events of the Battle of Okinawa during World War II. Their excitement continued on the second day with a trip to the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, the second-largest aquarium in the world. The students were captivated by a spectacular dolphin show and marvelled at the awe-inspiring whale sharks. Their exploration extended to Cape Manzamo, witnessing the unique landform sculpted by years of weathering. On the third day, the journey led them to Gyoku-sendo Cave. Here, they admired the natural beauty of stalactites and stalagmites adorning the cave walls. The evening offered a leisurely exploration of Kokusai Dori Street, where they immersed themselves in the local culture through souvenir shopping and enjoying the Okinawan cuisine. This tour not only enriched our girls with a deeper understanding of Okinawa’s culture but also provided a memorable finale to wrap up their Personal Growth Programmes at Heep Yunn. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the teachers involved and the tour guides on the journey. Their dedication helped to ensure a smooth and rewarding experience for all our Form Five students.
