Form Five Personal Growth Programme 24-25

During the second week of January, from 7th to 10th, our Form Five girls embarked on their Cultural Heritage and Nature Experiences Tour to Okinawa. This tour marked the first overseas trip of their Personal Growth Programme, filling the students with excitement and anticipation.

Brimming with new experiences, the trip was nothing short of eye-opening. It began with a fruitful visit to Yomitan Village, where students interacted with local villagers and gained insights into their way of life. They experienced the realities of rural Japan, where livelihoods are built on sugar cane farming and hard work.

Our girls then participated in an exchange programme with Okinawa Prefecture Maehara High School. This valuable opportunity allowed them to engage with Japanese students of the same age, offering a glimpse into the differences between Japanese and Hong Kong school life. Despite the language barrier, they forged meaningful bonds and shared memorable experiences.

From visiting Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium to exploring Cape Manzamo and enjoying traditional performances in Okinawa World, our students deepened their appreciation of Okinawa’s unique culture and traditions. They gained a broader understanding of cultural diversity and recognised the importance of preserving traditional ways of life.

This cherished experience would not have been possible without the dedication of our teachers and tour guides. We extend our deepest gratitude for their meticulous planning and hard work, which ensured the success of this trip and provided our Form Five girls with lasting and unforgettable memories.
