Introduction

Heep Yunn School offers teaching of as many as 32 subjects for students. The subjects are classified into eight categories in accordance with the key learning areas set by the Education Bureau.

Guiding principles of Heep Yunn School in providing regular curriculum are:

  • to provide students with an all-round education
  • to promote education for life
  • to cultivate internationalism and respect for other cultures
  • to adapt to the local environment and allow students to maintain a strong sense of cultural identity

Medium of instruction

Heep Yunn School uses English as the medium of instruction for all subjects except Chinese, Chinese Literature, Chinese History, Putonghua, Family and Life Education and other foreign languages classes (Japanese, Spanish, French & Korean).

Learning Chinese Language in Putonghua

About one to two groups in each form will learn Chinese in Putonghua from Form One to Form Three.

Combinations of DSE elective subjects

The school provides a wide and balanced spectrum of DSE elective subjects for students to choose from. In the latest selection for Form 4 electives conducted in July 2022, 53 combinations of the main elective subjects were offered from the 153 possible combinations. 70% of the students were offered their first three choices.
