On 24th September, our long-standing installation ceremony took place in the School Hall. Student leaders from the Prefects Team, the Student Association, sports teams, music groups, the Drama Group, debating teams, the School Magazine, Girl Guides, and the Christian Fellowship went up on stage to receive their badges from our headmistress Ms. Leung, symbolising the School’s appreciation for their dedication in the upcoming academic year.

As our student leaders solemnly pledged their commitment to serving their respective teams and being exemplary role models, we were reminded of the challenges ahead and the heavy responsibilities placed upon them. However, as our Head Prefect, Wu Long Ching, stated in her speech, a competent leader does not need to strive for absolute perfection. Instead, we must recognise our shortcomings and learn to lean on our teammates if need be. Only by cultivating mutual trust and respect can each team pave the way to success.

After singing the school song and passing on the torches, a round of thunderous applause from our students marked the beginning of a new chapter for Heep Yunn. Taking on leadership is undoubtedly an arduous and challenging journey, but may our student leaders embody compassion and diligence throughout this fruitful year!
