2017-2018 Inter-house Swimming Gala Finals

The Swimming Gala Finals 2017-2018 was once again a huge success. This year’s event was held at Kwun Tong Swimming Pool on a wonderful Thursday morning. The bleachers, decked out in our school colours of red, blue, yellow, green and brown, were packed with enthusiastic students waiting to cheer for their houses and their peers on. Swimmers from all grades competed to bring back glory for their respective houses,as they were cheered on by the rest of the non-competing students, with the loudest chantings coming particularly from the Form One cheering teams, their leading house captains and organisers. Amidst the roars and chants, Hok House became the champion in the cheering competition, wowing the judges and all the spectators with their outstanding performance and strong team spirit.

Several students who demonstrated exceptional skills and perseverance in the pool secured the title of Individual Champion in their respective grades (as shown in the table below). Amongst the five houses, Yunn House once again reigned as the Overall Champion following last year’s success, with several swimmers even surpassing past achievements and setting new personal best and school records. This has again proven to us that the sky is the limit if we strive our hardest!

It was an honour for us to have our alumni from the class of 2015, Miss Yoyo Ng Tsz Yau as our guest of honour, miss Ng is now a full-time badminton player ranking 49th in Women’s Doubles, to share with us her ways to strike a balance between schoolwork and extra-curricular activities, as well as the challenges she has endured and overcome. Her sincere advice was most certainly encouraging to all of us and inspired us all greatly.
