The Inter-House Athletics Meet Heats and Finals of this year were held in Wan Chai Sports Ground on 9th and 10th November respectively.
In great weather, our athletes were able to bring out their best performance while the sports ground echoed with cheers and chants. The excitement peaked when different school teams competed against each other in relays, which involved challenging tasks like dodging obstacles and three-legged races. What was even more memorable would be the event of student-teacher relays. The students on the spectators’ stand all cheered for our teachers as they ran on the tracks, competing against their fellow colleagues. It was also the first year for us to invite five teams from different primary schools to join our friendly match, which was definitely another highlight of the day
This year, we were honoured to have one of our alumnae, Miss Tong Tsz-Wing, as the guest of honour for the closing ceremony. Miss Tong was a member of the school squash team and she was crowned BOCHK Outstanding Athlete (Squash 2010-2011). She reached a career-high ranking of 45 in the Women’s PSA World Squash Rankings in November this year. She shared with us her experience in her sports career and encouraged us to overcome difficulties with perseverance, which gave all our students a spur to achieve more in life. This year’s Athletics Meet ended with cheers for Heep Yunn and “Today We Are One”,
