Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition 2017

The Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition is an annual competition for local secondary school students to showcase original research projects. With this year’s theme being ‘From Theory to Practice – Develop Science Potential‘, students are expected to apply their scientific knowledge in their investigation or invention in fields including energy, engineering and environment.

After a year of investigation and trial-and-errors, the 6 teams of young scientists from Heep Yunn School all came up with brilliant designs and discoveries that are both innovative as well as practical in real life. What came next was rounds of judging and exhibitions. Our students presented their projects to a panel of judges, explaining the theories behind. In the Senior Division, ‘The Teeth Guardians’ was named Investigation Projects Champion, while ‘I’ve Bin Recycling Paper’ won in the Investigation Projects (Type B) category. The Champions may be selected to participate in an overseas exchange programme in summer to gain greater knowledge in science and technology.
